Evening Tranquility in the Desert-Arches National Park Panorama

I have lots of images that I have taken over the years that have never been processed and seen the light of day. I think it is about time that I start digging some of them up and posting them while I have time!

This panoramic image is from a month-long trip I took out to the Pacific Northwest back in 2013. My first stop after leaving Buena Vista was to stop for the night in Moab, Utah and I got there with enough time to head out to Arches National Park. I have been to the park many times before, but don’t ever remember shooting from this spot. The overlook is aptly named …continue reading…

After a busy summer last year getting started in the art show scene, I was anxious to get out and do some shooting in the fall. One of the quick trips I took was down to Zion National Park in southwest Utah in early November. I always enjoy this park, especially in the fall. I met up with my good friends and fellow (more…)

I spent quite a few days in the Narrows at Zion National Park this past fall. The first day was spent with my good friend and fellow photographer Luke Tingley. Now, there are a few of things you need to know about Luke. First of all he is the same age as my son which puts him at twenty some years younger than I am. He is also damn near a foot taller (more…)

Around the Bend-Fall in Kanarra Creek Canyon

I was fortunate to have my friend and fellow photographer Rene Pirolt take me to Kanarra Creek outside of Zion National Park a couple of years ago. Zion is one of Rene’s favorite location and I learned a lot of new locations on that trip. I went back to Kanarra Creek by myself this last fall, but the golden leaves had fallen in the valley. I scurried up to the falls up in the narrows, but was unable to get any shots like this down lower. There are many small cascades and waterfalls along the way, but with only barren trees and foliage it wasn’t worth stopping for. I am glad I had a productive trip the year with Rene and look forward to another one soon!
